DIY Book ring storage

I made this storage from a real book I bought from Booksale. I've originally planned to buy a storage box that looks like a book, but I only saw that once in a department store and I never saw one again. But my storage is way better. It’s real, so people won’t be curious if that’s a real book or not, less snooping.

I know this looks like it’s gonna be a lot of time cutting out pages, but just be patient. You don’t have to make the cut always neat. Look what I did.

I got bored halfway through the process of cutting. I know it’s a mess, and there are some pages that were sticking out.

After cutting, in which in my case it took months cause I took a long hiatus, tape the inside using masking tape. Then glue cut-out rectangles from folders,  from the face of the book through the inside of the box.

Cover the face with any paper, just to hide the masking tape

Then you’ll need a fabrics, it doesn't matter if it’s plain or has design. The thicker your fabric is the better.

The width of the fabrics should be the same as the inside of the square. And the height is up to you, but when you fold the fabric, it shouldn’t have the height like the inside of the square, leave a little space so that you can still close the book when you have rings inside
Fold the fabric into a rectangle. Make enough rectangles that can fit inside the square. The number of rectangles should be enough to stuff in it.

Then have another fabric to cover the rectangles. It should be long. Just tuck in the

fabric in between the rectangles

Finished part:

I'm planning to make a new cover for the book. A vintage look
