DIY: Silk screened shirt

Having your shirt silk screen is a very efficient way to design your own tee. The design of your shirt will not fade compared to heat-press and it's very affordable when compared to ruberized printed shirts.

This isn't my first time designing my own shirt

Things you'll need
Silk screen
textile paint
pattern
squigee
papers
carboard

Now first things to do is make your pattern. Determine what size it'll be and make sure it'll fit in the silk screen.

I did the The Script logo since I'm a big fan

Put the carboard inside the shirt.

Place your cut-out pattern on you shirt, and place the silk screen after that. Add papers beneath the screen, make sure it's not blocking your pattern.

Add the paint and scrape it using your squigee. Once you're satisfied with scraping, lift off the screen carefully.

This is optional. I added fabric paint to outline the text.

My shirt's outcome wan't what I expected. It turned out that the paint was too thick therefore making the text ugly. So I re-painted it using my brush, but it didn't make any progress. Oh well, it's wearable at least.

How to take care of your screen:

It's very important to take care of your screen especially if you're planning on making another silk screened shirt.

Don't let the borders wet. So use a water sprayer and a brush.
Don't let the paint dry on the silk. Your silk screen will be useless if the little holes of the silk is clogged up by paint, so completely wash the silk
