My Mesha Organic's Tritone Soap experience

Last week of June, I bought GT whitening soap at a grocery. At that time, I was just waiting for my orders to arrive from Mesha Organics. I became impatient since I don’t want to use my Garnier facial scrub anymore since I discovered that it’s not recommended to exfoliate daily. Actually, I’ve been eyeing that soap since the last time we went for groceries. It has a cute package, and it looks organic since it has pictures of a lemon and coconut but at the back it says otherwise. It has some other ingredients that aren’t totally organic. But I just shrugged it off, I mean just because it’s not totally organic doesn’t mean it’ll be harmful right? But I really don’t know the state of my face. I’m not really sure what specific ingredients it reacts badly to, but only less than a week of trying it, I woke up with tiny bumps on my forehead to greet me one Monday morning. With what the olive oil fiasco has given me, I decided to stop it once and for all and just use it on my body since it doesn’t have any bad reactions on me, though I’m just going to finish this bar and will never use this again.

Moving on, I got my package first week of July. I bought their Tritone soap and mesha cream. And here’s what it does on my face:

  • Makes my face look fair after every wash
  • Eradicated my growing pimple on my right check
  • It didn’t prevent some bumps to become pimples but it looks better now
  • Lightened my pimple marks
  • Minimized my pores
  • Vanished most of my blackheads
I cut the bar into 4 pieces and it doesn’t dissolve easily, I’m still on my first cut and still in its decent size. It doesn't sting and it has a mild fruit-acid candy scent which I love. I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that it will vanish all of my dark spot when I finish it, but so far I’m loving the results. Of course I can’t give all the credit to it, but it did made my journey to a flawless skin faster

Here’s the result

WTF pimples?!

Do you see the pattern on the picture? If you can see my face right now, my pimple is currently residing on my chin, after another pimple left on it. GRRRR! It’s so frustrating, I’ve had enough! I need to get to the bottom of what’s really causing this.

That was my face before I started the oil cleansing method. It didn’t have any active pimples, just marks. And that was really the reason why I started looking for other products, to eradicate those dark spots. When I was doing the method, I felt like nothing was going on my skin and I also felt like I’m wasting a good amount of my not so cheap cold-pressed oils. I want to let my face absorb all those goodies the oils can give, not just wipe it off with a damp towel after a few minutes.

So I decided to start a new regime, I bid adieu to the oil cleansing method and started to my new routine. At first I really didn’t intend to use the olive oil but I found out that oils (except for those cooking oils) are great for make-up removing, but I also found out that olive oil and coconut oils can cause the pores to clog for some people. In fact, those two oils aren’t on the top of the list when trying to look for the perfect oil combination for your face, it’s mostly castor, grape seed and jojoba oils. But I’m not saying that you shouldn’t use other oils, take time to research and try out what’s best for you. Remember what may be good for other doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s also good for you as well.

Going back to my face, ever since I started this new regime, I noticed a pimple on my forehead. I thought it was nothing to be alarmed since I do sleep very late and all that. When I woke up the bump felt smaller. A day or two after that, another said hello in between my brows, when it receded, it moved on my left cheek, then right, on my chin. So yeah, it keeps moving. I really don’t know what caused this outbreak, but I have my doubt it’s the olive oil. I can’t point my finger on the grape seed since I also apply it on my underarm and saw great results. My underarm has a bump and after a few days of applying it, it vanished and lightened it.

I decided to stop using olive oil today and see if it’s really the cause. I’m gonna try using rosehip oil instead.

My day/night time facial routine

Night

I have a few things I put on face before going to bed and in the morning when I have school. At night I first remove my make-up using olive oil, back when I haven’t discovered organic products I used to rely on my soap and toner to remove the make-up but now I know better! The key to having a great skin is to keep it clean first. It’s a must that you remove any make-up first before cleaning your face with soap. Not only those olive oil removes my make-up, but it also eliminates any excess oils. I just apply it on my face for a few minutes, not too long though because I'm worried that if it stays too long my pores will absorb the oil as well as my make-up. So I just massage it on my face between 1-2 minutes, and wipe it off using a damp towel. Then I use Garnier Light Complete to finish cleaning my face. I really can’t tell if it does what it says cause I'm not good at observing unless it’s very obvious, but it doesn't do any harm on my skin so for now I’m using this until I can find a better substitute. In my pursuit for an all organic skin care routine, I tried the ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) toner. Basically you just mix equal (for oily skin) parts water and ACV, but I guess since I’ve been using stronger toners that it wasn’t able to prevent pimples to occur. Though I still suggest you try it since I looked it up and it’s supposed to balance our pH level and all that, which your skin will appreciate better instead of using harsh toners with alcohol that can dry up your face. And finally I moisturize with oils. SML for grape seed oil! I’m not gonna venture about this again since I already have a post about this. I massage it on my face and add more on my pimples, I also put some on my underarm and it somehow whitens it, and I use the castor oil for my lashes and eyebrows, though I’m really not sure if the brows have gotten thicker or if my lashes became longer. My tip for using oils is that to apply it early, especially if you like to put a lot of it on your face so that your pores will have ample time to absorb it when you sleep

Day

As you can see I don’t put much on my face. After washing my face and applying toner, I moisturiser it using this argan oil. You've probably heard of this brand. I was first introduce by this product when I was looking for a typical moisturiser and then this saleslady offered me this. When she applied it on my arm it felt smooth and it’s not too oily. I only use this as my moisturiser although it’s also great for the hair and body, BUT it’s not cheap for a 30 mL bottle. Though she said that it’s good for 2 months and a little goes a long way. I let it absorb first before I use my BB stick. Now I don’t apply a primer or concealer cause the bb stick “can” do that and “more”. TBH I don’t like this product, it doesn't last long on my face, doesn’t conceal much and can be easily removed. I'm just using this cause I'm very lazy and I don’t like to put much make up on my face since I'm only going to school. Then, when I feel like my face looks oily, I apply Nichido's loose powder. Now the next important thing I put is eyebrows. I don’t know why I didn't do this before. I wouldn't say my eyebrows are thin but my definition of a beautiful eyebrows are medium- thick and clean. I really don’t go out without doing this. I love Maybeline’s eyebrow crayon in brown. I prefer my eyebrows to remain the same colour and this is why I love Maybeline’s. Although the downside of using a pencil is that some strands fall when I put too much pressure when i draw on my brows. My eyebrows are fragile that way. My mascara is also by Maybeline, the one for thicker lashes. And lastly my lip balm is my DIY project using a crayon and some petroleum jelly, though I vary from that and my other lipsticks.

Netrepreneur

This decision in my head progressed until such time that I’m itching to do it. I’m talking about opening a business. Specifically an online store which sells organic skin care products, affordable class A make-up replicas or fandom shirts. I’m still thinking about which one would produce the highest profit. I tried selling fandom shirts, although my sister was the one actually selling it, I was only designing the shirts. It was really convenient for me but I realized that I only get a small commission and my sister never informed me when someone bought a shirt. So I had no idea how much I was making and if her computation is fair and correct. Then I tried it again with my friend from college. It wasn’t easy there were a lot of expenses that should’ve been capitalized but we never did cause we don’t wanna see a smaller profit. Long story short, fandom shirts doesn’t produce much profit if you’re not resourceful. The reason why I’m thinking of doing this again is because I truly enjoy designing shirts and the idea of someone wearing my art makes me happy.
Now for the remaining ideas, it was only recently that I decided to think about reselling. I’ve been obsessed about all things organic lately. I had my first experience with organic oils and like what I posted on this blog is so worth a try. I’ve started searching for other organic products and was surprised that the market was so big. I saw different brands with many resellers.

Now the main question you would probably ask is why would I want to do this? First of all, even before I had no idea what degree to take, I wanted to have my own business. When college came, it broaden my knowledge about business. Btw, I’m currently an accountancy student but will be very soon an accounting technology student. Second is I love the idea of online selling. You don’t have to sales talk, sometimes the buyers are your advertisements. I’m really not good at conversing with people so I’m more comfortable online where you could just chat and meet different kinds of people. I wanna save up and be able to buy things I wanna buy. This would be a great part-time, plus I wanna have some money even before I work.

Guys! I would really love to hear from you. Do you know any online shops that are open for reselling? One that’s that doesn’t have much resellers but has a good reputation? Or a shirt printing service that’s very cheap or offers discounts within the Sta. Rosa Laguna area?

Going green

Just a little history, my pimples started breaking out when I was in my second year of high school. I knew hormones and my diet made a big contribution to my problem…aaaand I also get irritated when pimples appear as well as blackheads and whiteheads, so I tend to pop those things out. Weird as it may sounds, but it gives me bliss when I do that.
Moving on, my family started to notice my face, so we went to this lady’s house. I don’t know if she’s credible enough to have this kind of business but basically she has a “clinic” in her house, similar to a dermatologist’s clinic. She was our go-to when we want a facial for a cheaper price. She also has creams and toners. Her products really did work on my skin, there was a time when I had a pimple free skin. But, our visits to her became less frequent until such time that I wasn't able to buy her products. I used other alternatives after that, but started having pimples again here and there. It was a few years after that I had a chance to use the cream and toner again, but sadly it wasn't working for me anymore. I felt like buying commercial products wouldn't do any good and a waste of money.
Fortunately I was scrolling through facebook until I saw a post about using oils in lieu of soaps. So I did a little research about it and was amazed by what I saw and read. I was curious and excited at the same time to try out the oil cleansing method. I had to search through the internet to find any sellers of cold-pressed oils since only a few oils are available in our country. The grape seed and castor oil was the first oils I bought. Thanks to Zivine Organics. Right now I don’t use the oil cleansing method since I didn’t see any results within a week. I know a week is not enough to judge the method but I am an impatient person. So I decided to just read the instructions on the bottles and directly applied it on my face. When I woke up and felt my protruding pimple I cannot believe that it felt smaller. Result came in overnight! Though it didn't lighten my pimple marks like it claims it can do, but that won’t stop me from using it. Ever since I shifted to using organic products my skin looks glowing, it felt smooth and soft. I'm not gonna use harsh products anymore if I can avoid it.

I've been obsessed with oils lately as you can see. The grape seed body oil isn’t cold-pressed although it has a great smell and leaves your skin so smooth. The rosehip oil was a disappointment. It claims that it can fade stretch marks, wrinkles and scars, but I don’t see results so far. And I don’t like the smell, coming from a rose, you’d think it smells...well, like a rose, but noooo! I use my argan oil as my moisturiser before applying my make-up. It does lives up to its name, the liquid gold. My face feels glowing when I apply it.  And lastly, I use olive oil as my make-up remover since it’s much cheaper compared to my other oils.

Where I bought it:
Grape seed oil body massage- Body Treats (bought it at SM Sta. Rosa Dept. Store)
Cold-pressed grape seed and castor oil- Zivine Organics
Rosehip Oil- Botany works (bought it at Sesou Nature Source)
Oil of Argan- Sesou Nature Source

Guys if you know any organic products that’s worth a try do comment below

I'm baaack!

Writing again is so overwhelming. It’s been months since I wrote an essay and longer since I blogged. So forgive me if my writing’s rusty…well it never was perfect anyways. As usual my excuse would be college. I don’t wanna make this post longer so to sum it up, I’ll try to blog again. I’ll be blogging all the things I love, specifically books, organic products and DIYs, as well as my life :)

DIY: Silk screened shirt

Having your shirt silk screen is a very efficient way to design your own tee. The design of your shirt will not fade compared to heat-press and it's very affordable when compared to ruberized printed shirts.
